What is Butterfly Marketing?

Friday, January 30th, 2009

Surely Mike Filsaime used ‘Butterfly Marketing’ to promote ‘Butterfly Marketing’ Or at least that’s what you would think. But from what I’ve found from little hints here and there that doesn’t seem to be the case.

So then what is it? What is ‘Butterfly Marketing?’

Well, first let me say for those that have been hearing about what a huge package it is, don’t get size confused with content. I am not going to name names, but I have bought a number of high dollar packages from well known marketers to find that it took hours and hours and hours to find the 6 small pieces of information that was slightly unique and usable.

Like I said, we don’t know for a fact what ‘Butterfly Marketing’ is. But we can get a pretty good clue from studying the information from affiliates and from Mike’s site.

So let’s get out our butterfly nets and see what we can catch.

Okay if we watch the video on Mike’s page where he talks about what he did to create a flow of traffic as an example for his seminar he was giving we can tell.

1. He took a quality product that he was selling, but that sales had slowed down on and he offered it for free. So we can see that we need our own product. whether it is a new one or one that has been around for awhile.

2. Not only did he offer the product for free, but he also let anybody else that wanted to, also offer it for free. Ideally this would be a membership type site. But it doesn’t have to be.

3. It seems that while others are able to give the product away and can build their own list with your product, to actually download the product they have to enter your site and give there info. To get the product as a final step. Of course a membership site would automatically be set up in this way.

4. Then when people download the product or join the membership they get a one time offer. This is in the form of a thank you page.

5. The one time offer is a product that has a good conversion rate. And since it is a one time offer it’s something that people are going to be able buy spontaneously without having to do a bunch of research and something that isn’t over the top in cost. Say, under $100.00.

6. This one time offer is obviously connected to your affiliate program so not only can people use it to help build their list they can also make some good money.

This is an excellent example of viral marketing and is a model that we should all try to follow.

This seems to be the general concept and that’s what ‘Butterfly Marketing’ appears to be to me.

Now, that isn’t all that that ‘Butterfly Marketing’ consists of. Mike also offers his plug and play website template software. This looks like an incredible tool. Here is what it will do.

* Instant Home Page, Signup, Login, Lost Password, FAQ, And T.O.S. Pages

* Onetime Offer After Signup

* 2nd Onetime Offer After Signup

It certainly doesn’t seem to be missing much and looks fantastic… Until you compare it to JVManager. Which seems to be pretty close to the same thing, except JVManager even offers more.

Okay, on top of that Mike is giving some real nice bonuses. Some seem to be duplicates of what his plug and play software does. But he also includes some incredible informational products. It would have been really cool to be one of the first 10 to get his program. Just one of those bonuses would have been worth the investment.

If you are wondering, I am in no way trying to shoot down Mike’s product. There is no doubt in my mind that there is information in this package called ‘Butterfly Marketing’ that can make you tens of thousands and even hundreds of thousands of dollars if you apply it.

I just want you to consider the possibility of an alternative.

No matter what direction you choose to take keep in mind that it will be only as successful as you make it.

Look at Mike’s testimonials some of these people applied the system and made it work. I promise that there are many times more people that will not make a single penny because they won’t apply a single step that is given.

Want to see what ‘butterfly Marketing’ is for sure? Then go to the sites of the people that offer testimonials. Watch what they do. And if it is a great system then believe me they will be using it.

For those that would like to see a complete software system that is in my opinion even superior to the one he offers you might check out my link here. Http://www.simplosity.com/JVM.html or there is another way to get it and even more by going here. http://www.simplosity.com

Well, I hope it was a butterfly we caught and not actually a grass hopper. :-)

How to Find Free Football Picks

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Believe it or not, learning how to find free football picks is not really all that difficult. However, finding good free football picks is something else altogether. With so many “experts” wanting to charge you hundreds of dollars for their picks, wouldn’t it be good to know how to find free football picks that are worth your time? Here are some of the best ways to find such picks so that you can have that bit of extra input when you go to place those bets or enter your office football pool.

Check Sports Experts

Obviously, for most any information, the internet is a good starting point. In searching online for free football picks, you should start with sports and football sites. Sports channels, sports publications, and sports websites almost all offer their picks. Often times, they even offer those picks against the number from sports books. Often times, like professional football handicappers, the people on sports sites who are making the picks have made the sport and the teams their lives. The information, then, is likely close to as good.

Find Deals from Handicappers

Learning how to find free football picks includes checking services that would normally charge for the picks. For instance, if you go online and look at football handicapping services, many of them will offer free picks as a sort of “sample.” Additionally, they sometimes even just offer picks on the front pages of their websites as a way to show off their skill in the picks. They figure that once you see how often the free pick is right you will buy their services. For you, that means you can fish around the internet and find a number of free picks on games. You may not get every pick, you may not get the “lock of the week,” but you will get access to “expert” information on a variety of games, and isn’t that all you are really looking for anyway?

Free Services

Believe it or not, when learning how to find free football picks, you will likely discover that there are actually handicapping services that are free. How is that possible? Many of these sites and companies get their money from advertising on their website. Beware, though, because you will likely have to register an email with such companies. They may make their money be getting your address for bulk emailers. To avoid the problem, just establish a new email address so that you can still take advantage of the free picks. With free services, you can separate the reliable from the unreliable by watching their picks for a couple of weeks without betting. Then, once you know who is legit, you can start adding the services picks to your factors when deciding on your own picks.

When it comes to picking football games for fun or for money, or for both, it is important to have all the information you can get. Sure, you could hire a handicapping company to help you with your picks, but at the end of the day, the best way to get help is by learning how to find free football picks.

Croquet: A History

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Croquet is a classic yard game that has been played for centuries all over Europe. A game similar to croquet is believed to have been played in Ancient Rome. The current version of croquet, however, originated in about the 14th century by French peasants who used wooden mallets to hit wooden balls through wickets made from willow branches. Croquet became popular in Ireland in the early eighteen hundreds and transferred to England around 1851. It quickly became popular and spread throughout the colonial empire, reaching virtually every area of British colonial rule by the year 1870.

Traditionally, croquet was played on a professional playing field, with the grass trimmed, similar to a golf course. At the turn of the century, however, Americans, disagreeing with new English rules outlawing mallets with rubber heads, and introducing a six-wicket court, maintained their own version of nine-wicket croquet. Many Americans also developed a more simple and rugged version of nine-wicket croquet, which could be played casually in their own backyards. This is the version of croquet that many Americans know and play today. The well trimmed croquet field is still used in professional play, both in America and at the international level.

Croquet was a popular game among the youth of the British Empire, who could use it to socialize and flirt without their parents constantly peering over their shoulders. It was initially more popular among women, but in 1874 there was a decline in the popularity of the game among women, because it was becoming too scientific. The game also decreased in popularity as lawn tennis began to replace it, bringing in more money than croquet.

As the games popularity declined in England, it increased in America. In 1865, the Newport Croquet Club in Rhode Island was formed. In 1871, Milton Bradley published “Croquet – Its Principles and rules.” In New York, in 1882, twenty-five clubs from the National American Croquet Association. The game met with some setbacks in America, when in the 1890’s, the game was condemned by the Boston clergy, who spoke against it because of its association with drinking, gambling, and licentious behavior. Croquet was played as an Olympic sport in the 1900 and 1904 Olympic Games.

Croquet is more popular as a competitive sport outside of the United States. It began to catch on more in the United States again, in the 1960’s. In 1969, the first six wicket croquet tournament was held in at the Colony Hotel in Palm Beach between the New York Croquet Club and the Palm Beach Croquet Club. Several other clubs eventually joined in, and once creating a uniformed code of rules, they established the United States Croquet Association, under Jack Osborn. Since 1980, croquet professionals in North America have grown from about fifty to around 4000. Croquet is now played in over twenty countries as a competitive sport. National tournaments are held often within these countries, and international tournaments are held at the international level.

Many association and clubs have now been established in the United States and the international standards of croquet are being played more often by American croquet players. Most Americans, however, still play the more simple and casual backyard, nine-wicket version of croquet. Many Americans also play “poison croquet,” which is similar to nine wicket croquet, but is not played in teams. Instead, each player competes for him/herself to see who can hit their ball through all of the wickets first, making their ball “poison” and then eliminating the other players by hitting their balls with the poison ball.

Dallas Cowboys Receivers and Terrell Owens

TO and Our Future at Wide Receiver I’m not real sure what to make of Keyshawn getting cut. I really didn’t want TO, but now we need him. I feel pretty confident we will sign him because unless Keyshawn wanted a huge raise, we didn’t cut Key for salary reasons. He was scheduled to make only 2.5 million which is a bargain for a starting wideout. I’m pretty sure he was cut to make room for a sizeable upgrade to our recieving corps. TO could give us a real chance to win the Super Bowl if he can keep his mouth shut.

Our offense will be one of the league’s best if we can improve along the line. Team this offense with a young and improving defense, and you have a real good chance to be playing in late in January. If this happens all we need is to get a good kicker to round out one killer team. The long term future of our receiving corp is pretty cloudy. Glenn has two good years left. Crayton can be a solid #2 possession receiver, but that is it. I’m a big fan of saving some money from this year and making a run at Javon Walker. He is young, and a really good receiver. It will be tough to re-sign Witten, James, and Johnson (or a different center) and still get Walker, but I’m sure we could. Imagine Walker, Crayton, Witten, and a 3rd round speedster from the 2006 draft as receiving targets. TO could possibly fit into this plan, but I would just try to get one good year out of him and can him. He has three great years left if he can stay healthy, but I say he becomes a cancer after that. Anything is possible with him however.UPDATE: We signed him so I guess we will find out what its like to have a big time wide out. He may change my opinion of wide receivers. I have never really thought you needed a tremendous wide receiver on your team.

I’ve always leaned towards having good O-lines, quarterbacks, and running backs, while having solid receivers like Glenn and Key from the last few years. My opinion is probably based on the fact that Dallas hasn’t had one since I’ve been following them so religously.

The Tale of Two Laddies

The Tale of Two Laddies

by: Robert J. McLardie

Bob McLardie has worked for over thirty years with countless horses and their owners to repair relationships, calm fears, nurture and protect and above all else bring owners to a new understanding of their horses. He brings to you “The Cornerstone Approach – A Revolution in Horsemanship”.

The Tale of Two Laddies is a story about the challenges and obstacles that every human being and creature face throughout life and living. The two laddies in my life brought me to a greater understanding and depth of the words “never give up”.

As a horse trainer, coach and farrier, I have had the opportunity to meet many great people and horses.

I first met Laddie while I was working on a little Arab at a 450 acre ranch in Northern B.C. There was another horse on the ranch named Laddie. He was a 10 year old appaloosa gelding and he had been running wild for 8 years on the ranch. Apparently as a 2 year old Laddie had been tied to what someone had thought was a secure object but Laddie had managed to pull and drag that object. The result was a broken halter and Laddie running off. For the next 8 years Laddie had no human contact, therefore no halter on, hooves not trimmed, unlimited feeding with the cattle and unlimited pasture which led to him being severely foundered.

I learned later that Laddie had been put into a log corral and in trying to catch him that Laddie had reared up and dropped his body on the top log and it broke. Laddie was then able to scramble over the logs and was free again.

I asked the owner if I could take on the challenge of repairing Laddie’s foundered feet as well as training him to be ridden with the objective of saving his life and finding him a new home. Laddie was so sore that at times he would lie down and eat by pulling himself in a circle to eat the grass where he was laying. I was surprised that he had not been attacked and killed by the large pack of wolves that were known to travel and take calves from this ranch. An agreement was made between the owner and I for me to pick up Laddie on a Sunday afternoon. I thought the owner would have him in a corral or fenced area waiting for us. When my son and I arrived he was welding some farm equipment and I asked him where Laddie was, he pointed to the large whit butt that could be seen over the rise on the distant hillside. Although disappointed, I thought that catching Laddie would not pose a great challenge I told my son it wouldn’t take long! After all Laddie had sore feet.

We set off with a lead rope and halter in hand. Unknown to me was Laddie’s in-depth knowledge of this 450 acres and his great desire not to be caught! Laddie knew every nook and cranny, every cow trail into the bush and pasture, and all the ways to evade capture. He would hide behind groups of cows and calves and as we got close he would scatter the cows. He would hide in small groves of trees, deadfall, brush and brambles. Laddie seemed just like a moose, he was that comfortable in the wilderness. It was hard to imagine that with his feet in such bad condition that he could continue to walk.

After 2 hours we were close to the house and close to giving up so I went in to talk to the owner. We needed to get Laddie into a smaller area. The cows were used to coming for grain so we got the grain and the cows, the 2000 lb. Bull named Harcourt, 2 huge sows, and 2 goats heading for the corral. Cam and I were part of the herd as well, the corral was full. The owner controlled the gate as the last of the animals went in. We poured the grain on the ground to get the animals settled and we started the process of cutting out cows and calves. It was easier to walk up and pat the 2000 lb. Bull, Harcourt on the head than it was to get close to Laddie. Laddie was extremely anxious and agitated and had fear written all over his face. Our idea was to cut out the cows, calves, pigs and goats, keep things calm and capture Laddie. We got the majority of the cows and calves out, then Harcourt, the pigs and the goats. There were a few Herefords left and Laddie. In trying to approach Laddie he again reared up trying to clear the log corral, but with fatigue and soreness it prevented his attempt to flee. This was our opportunity! With a bucket of grain my son approached Laddie’s head. This gave me a chance to move towards Laddie’s shoulder so I could stroke his withers and neck and put a halter on. Cam and I breathed a sigh of relief, this was the first time in 8 years he had had a halter on!

With the lead shank and the halter on I moved him around in the corral for a few minutes. What were amazing were that after all those hours of following behind him, Laddie now just accepted the halter and the lead shank and followed me willingly.

It was now a mile and a half walk to get Laddie to my training facility. On my way home I have to go by the farm of an old local cowboy, John. He used to break horses in the style of his father.

He was sitting on his front porch and could see me walking down the road towards him. He was an old friend of Laddie’s owner and had been in the corral on the first occasion when Laddie had broken free. John couldn’t help himself, he came down the driveway to meet me. He asked me in amazement if that was old Laddie and how on earth die I catch him. Without going into great detail I said it took hours of walking. John looked at Laddie’s feet and recognizing how badly foundered he was told me that I would never be able to repair them and what was I going to do with the horse anyway? I told him that I was pretty confident that I could fix his feet and that I was going to train him and ride him. John looked at me and said, “You’ll never do it. Laddie’s too old, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks! You’re crazy!” I said, “Just hive me a couple of months and you can come over with the owner and have coffee while I ride Laddie.”

When I got Laddie home I bathed him with the garden hose and cleaned the dirt and sweat from his body. He seemed to really enjoy the bath and drank water directly from the end of the hose. We measured and photographed his feet at this time. His feet were over 6 ” (they should be about 3 “) and the size of dinner plates. They were flared and very misshapen. It was quite remarkable that his legs and tendons had been able to take all the abuse with all the years of not being trimmed. He is a remarkable example of the will to survive!

I bedded him in deep shavings in the barn. This was another first for the old gelding. After 3 days of rest I led him to the 60 foot round pen to trim his feet. All four feet were foundered and extensive abscesses and large amounts of torn tissue. The toes on all four feet were squared off and large amounts of the flaring were removed. As much heel as possible was left on all four feet. These trimming techniques are used to aid in making a horse more comfortable and to remove the stresses from the tendons. It also allows the horse to break over the toe of the foot with the least amount of stress. (It took a year of trimming and dieting to get his feet to normal shape and condition.) Although I am familiar with heart bar shoes, it was decided that I would continue to trim his feet and work him in the soft ground in the round pen. After a couple more days of rest in the barn it was back to the round pen to teach him the basics. Without being restrained he was saddled and bridled on this day and taught to go right and left, walk on, trot and canter. Laddie had a big soft kind eye. He was so full of try and his kindness showed as he always gave 100% in whatever I asked him to try.

Laddie was about 200 lbs. overweight so I decided to put him on a diet of last year’s hay and continue with a program of gradual conditioning in the round pen. At the end of 8 weeks he continued to lose weight and had been trimmed a second time. His conditioning and training was now allowing me to ride him in the 70 x 120 ft outdoor riding ring. I was pleased with the progress. He felt solid under saddle.

Corresponding with the arrival of Laddie, the second little laddie entered my life. His name was Joshua and he was a 4 year old autistic boy. (Autism is a disorder that causes delays in social and emotional development, language skills and behavior difficulties.) He visited the farm quite frequently as the care and training of Laddie continued. Joshua loved to be outside and the farm offered a safe, secure and new environment for Josh to explore. I was able to establish a relationship with Josh very quickly and he was very willing to take instructions from me. Although many other people had great difficulty in communicating with him, I was able to create a special bond with him right away. Joshua functioned at the higher end of the autism spectrum and he did have some verbal skills and was able to understand instructions that were short if he had time to process the information. Joshua always took everything that was said in the literal sense. Josh loved all the horses at the farm but he seemed to show special fondness of Laddie. Whenever I was working with Laddie Josh wanted to help. Many times he would bring his favourite toy, a Star Wars light saber and run around the riding ring waving it at Laddie who got his work out bye running away from Josh.

One exercise with Laddie using the lunge line was to teach Laddie to stand still and face me and then to come to me by giving him a hand signal. Josh would watch this process. Josh loved to make the lunge line whip up and down like a large green snake towards Laddie but wouldn’t keep eye contact with the big gelding. (People with autism have difficulty making eye contact.) Being concerned that Josh should know where the horse was I would shout “Josh keep your eye on the horse!” Josh would still shout “Whoa Waddie!”" whip the lunge line and look down at the ground. On closer observation I noticed he would peek at the horse by slightly raising his head and indeed had one eye open and one eye closed. He had one eye on the horse!!

Josh could not say Laddie, he used to call him Waddie. He got very confident working him in the round pen and the arena. He could lead him and give him instructions to whoa, and walk on. Their relationship progressed to the level where Josh would walk alongside him going to the left, Josh would say “Who Waddie” and lift up his right arm and the big horse would stop. Then Josh would lean his upper body forward and point his right arm and say “Waddie walk on.” Laddie walked on. This is a unique example of the bonding that is possible between a human being and a horse.

School was especially trying for Joshua. He required constant supervision and they had not yet mastered the skills required to communicate with him. One day the school called his mother to tell her that she would have to pick Josh up from school because the did not want to take him on a field trip. Josh’s mom could not believe that with all of their education and knowledge that they would refuse to try and take Josh on the outing with his class. Joshua was also upset so his mom brought him out to the farm as a special trip. Joshua then asked if he could RIDE Laddie. “Bob, Bob, I Want to wide Waddie, prease, prease!!” I saddled up the big gelding and Joshua got up on the horse without any fear. I led them around the farm as Joshua gave Laddie and I directions to go right, go left, cross the bridge, walk here, walk there, whoa, walk on. Nearing the end of the ride we crashed through brush and walked through an old creek bed. As we got closer to the barn Joshua could see his mom. He shouted at the top of his lungs, “I Win!! I Win!!” His mother and I looked at each other in amazement. Where did that come from? When I helped Joshua down from the horse he said to me “Thanks for the most beautiful horse wide!” We were both brought to tears. A day that had begun with frustration and hopelessness had ended in exhilaration and success!

In retrospect, both this horse and this boy had many challenges and obstacles to overcome and yet each in their own unique way were doing their best and giving their all. We couldn’t have asked for more.

I know my role was that of teacher and trainer but I know I learned so much from Joshua and Laddie about facing life’s challenges and obstacles that may be in our paths, on how to start a new life and to leave the past where it belongs, in the past. Live in the moment and live in hope of an ever unfolding future. For this I thank them both.

p.s. I wintered Laddie on a strict diet. He continued to do well and in the spring a little girl and her mom came and took Laddie to his new home.

5 Things You Can Do To Improve Your Ice Hockey Game

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Are you an ice hockey playing teenager that dreams about one day making it all the way to the National Hockey League? Do you want to become the next superstar in ice hockey?

My guess is that your answer is yes to both of the above questions (at least if you are an ice hockey playing teenager).

Now it is time for the next questions.

Do you currently feel that you are on the right track for a successful NHL career? Are you doing all the right things in order to become a world class athlete?

Actually I am no longer so sure that your answer is yes to these questions as I was on the first ones.

But do not worry, just keep reading and I will give you a few basic pointers to help you a little along the way.

I never made it to the NHL myself and I whish now that I knew back then what I know now. Maybe I wouldn’t have made it all the way, but I most likely would have come closer.

Here are five pointers that every young ice hockey player should be implementing:

1. Always be careful with what you eat.

Stick with low fat food and lots of pasta. This will help your engine run for sixty minutes.

2. Get a good night sleep every night.

This will help you body recover from practice and games.

3. Stay away from alcohol and other drug.

You already knew this one, I know. It was merely a reminder.

4. Focus every time you are out in the ice.

Tomorrow is new day. Make sure you make the most out of today’s practice or game. If you do not catch the moment now you will soon be too old to play the game of ice hockey.

5. Improve your mental strength.

Many wise men say that any sport is ninety percent mental and ten percent physics. I do not know if this is true, but why take any chances. There are many good books to read on the subject.

Ice hockey is a complicated game and I will not promise you success, but you will be heading the correct path when you implement the above five steps.

Make every day and every shift count out on the ice. There will be rewards.

Mobile Broad-Band could be the key to the Spread of Internet

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

Mobile broadband is the trendiest technology in the technological world that is the key to the development of broadband. Until recently, broadband was available via a standard phone landline, ADSL connection, which links to a PC using an ADSL modem or router. Wireless broad-band is going to be increasingly spread, whereby the Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line modem is attached to the laptop via a wireless intranet, and as a consequence internet users are getting rid of cables. However mobile broadband is pushing the internet technology one step further and offering another important step in the technology of internet; a broadband connection pretty much in any room without using a traditional landline cable.

The option of connecting to the internet with a reliable high speed internet connection anywhere is obviously attractive to potential users, like those who generally use internet with their personal computer away from home. People who usually travel for business meetings are the target for mobile high speed internet since they will enjoy the chance of not having to look for a wifi hotspot for an adequate internet connection. Mobile broadband reaches much further than that, and if costs soon begin to go down and internet connection speeds is faster soon we will experience most of broad band potential clients buying mobile broadband.

Mobile high speed internet works by using a portable modem to a personal computer, often called a ‘dongle’, from which your computer is able to connect to whichever mobile broadband internet package the customers have purchased. Telecom companies are selling mobile broad band connections and coverage of the networks, which is well known as three G networks, which is now said to be around 90% of GB.

Broad-band speed has been an important issue with any broad-band connection and mobile high speed connection companies at the beginning struggled to persuade potential clients that one day mobile high speed connection could perform as fast as traditional, landline broadband. Connections are changing, recently Vodafone has reported mobile high speed connection speeds up to more than 7 mb, which is as fast as most of the normal landline connections. Many countries, including the United Kingdom, are laying plans to put lot of money in fibre optic cable networks, because they want to improve broad-band line to up to 100mb. Get your hands on the best broadband packages.

In New Zealand, however, a famous telecom provider has reported that mobile high speed internet networks will soon improve rapidly over the coming years and they have announced that mobile broad band will deliver connections of up to 100mb by early 2011, which is when the UK’s fibre optic network is due to be delivered. This could create a serious change in industry thinking, with the discovery of a super fast mobile high speed connection network with obvious advantages over the laying of thousands of miles of fibre optic cables, without mentioning the practical point of view.
