Online Article Author Experts and Detractors of Their Work

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

There are thousands of Americans who are engaged in online article writing. In fact one of the top online article submission websites has nearly 200,000 articles on it from over 30,000 authors. It seems that this is a very fast growing niche on the Internet and indeed it appears that many writers, authors and inspired folks have taken to the keyboard and Internet to put their ideas, articles and opinions online for all to see. Some authors do this for personal reasons and many for commercial reasons.

Many of the top online article websites now allow readers of articles to post comments. Some of those who comment make derogatory, negative and personal attacking comments. Unfortunately some of the commenting folks are commercial competitors and some are just angry mean spirited people. As a top online article writer myself I have an opinion on this too;

Who cares how many comments someone has or what a “human” thinks of my articles. Because MOST humans have turned off their minds and surrendered them to the mass media hysteria of the TV, so I am pretty unconcerned where they get off judging my articles really. That is the reality you know. To each his own, but I am tired of the average reader telling who has not read a book since HS, never done anything in their life, lives in mediocrity and complains about everything. Take that you negative posting commenters; so there!

Water in Your Diet

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

We get our water from many different sources. It is not as you’d probably expect, just a result of drinking water. Coffee and tea are beverages that contribute to our daily fluid intake, in fact they also get some nutrients (all be it, not many) into our diets as well. The important thing to note is that though it is fine to drink tea or coffee in moderate quantities, they should never be treated as a substitute for drinking water. Yes both hot drinks taste a bit nicer, mostly because they taste of something. Water is very tasteless, and can often have a some what metallic note. But, at least when you dink water, you know that the water’s natural goodness is flowing directly into your systems. You can also get very disgusting coffee that tastes of ashtrays. I won’t name the company, but it’s one which dominates the global market, and it is one that I loathe. There are re-used countless times, and most of the beverages they offer- all designed to make you put on weight- are essentially sickly sweet milk. I also dislike their mugs in which their drinks are served. Coffee should be sipped from a cup, with handle and saucer, preferably with a rounded edge.

First Ironman and You Didn’t Finish

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

So you tried the Ironman and didn’t reach that finish line.

First of all, I don’t believe there is any such thing as failing in the Ironman.

You most likely went through a lot just to reach the start line and that in itself is quite an accomplishment. Not just anyone is willing to stand on that beach and wait for the starting gun.

It takes a special person to face the doubts and fears that come with the ironman challenge.

You probably worked yourself into the best shape of your life just to take your shot at one of the most difficult endurance races in the world. You no doubt earned a lot of respect from those around you who watched as you took up the challenge.

There’s lots of reasons why an Ironman race might not work out as you hoped. Possibly you didn’t eat and drink properly in that final week. Or maybe you simply overtrained and left your best race out on your favorite bike route back home. If you have even the smallest injury, the Ironman will magnify it, so its extremely important that you’re a 100% going into the race.

Some people tend to become very depressed when the race doesn’t turn out as they hoped. They go home wondering how they will explain this to everyone who asks them how the Ironman went.

You don’t really owe explanations to anyone, but if you must answer, there is one best answer.

“The Ironman is a tough race. That’s what makes it special. If it was that easy, where would the challenge be?”

Hopefully at that point, you tell that person you intend to try as many times as it takes to reach that finish line.

If anything, not reaching the finish line the first time, or several times you try the Ironman, should be incentive to return until you succeed.

Consider the races where you came up a bit short a learning experience that will help propel you to the finish line the next time.

I had an email a few weeks ago from an athlete who had failed five times to reach the finish line and attempted his sixth in the past week.

Well, I saw his name on the finishers list. Now to me, he is the true definition of an Ironman.

I can only image the huge amount of satisfaction he must feel today.

My name is Ray and I have spent over 25 years involved in endurance sports including 14 Ironman Triathlons.

As a way to give back to the Ironman, I have created a site full of racing and traing tips for the novice ironman.

The name of my site is “Ironstruck”. The address is =>http://www.triathlon-ironman-myfirstironman-ironstruck.com

Pros & Cons of Free Online Dating Service

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Free online dating service is a type of services that doesn’t require any payments or credit card details when you get registered.
Online dating services are much discussed online.

People are free to share their experience of being a member of this or that online dating community and to tell whether this experience was enjoyable and positive or not. When the subject of the discussion is free online dating service there are a number of pros and cons of using it. The fact that the service is free can be pro and con at one and the same time.

The absence of any payments is a great plus for many. But it’s a minus for those who think that something that is free can’t be good and effective/high-quality just because it is free of charge. One more point that speaks in favor of the latter is that sometimes free online dating service does not give you any guarantees (such as that you will find who you are looking for, that you won’t be suddenly signed out, etc.).

At the same time most of free online dating services have rather good reputation and their clients never have such problems like personal information disclosure or anything of this kind.

Health and Safety Lies beyond the Boardroom Doors, Says HSE

Monday, April 27th, 2009

The HSE has urged company directors to show the importance of health and safety by setting an example. It is of the opinion that the directors need to show their dedication outside their boardrooms to understand and motivate the staff.

At the annual Rivers Lecture in London, the Chairperson of the <a href=’http://www.hse.gov.uk/’ title=’Health and Safety Executive’>Health and Safety Executive</a>
, Judith Hackitt spoke to a group of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators about the importance of sincerity and personal responsibility in ensuring adherence to health and safety procedures. She suggested that safety would be assured only when the directors visit the workplace and interact with the staff about the health and safety issues faced by them. Showing a keen interest in the welfare of the employees can go a long way in aligning the employees’ thinking to that of the leadership.

She urged the board to show strong leadership, and an application of common sense and personal responsibility. She also criticised the prevalent notion that managers need to instruct and not follow. The culture of ‘do as I say’ needs to be replaced with ‘do as I do’, she said. Consistent words and actions from the management can go a long way in avoiding any integrity gap.

She concluded her speech by requesting the Chartered Secretaries and Administrators to guide their boards so that change can eventually be seen throughout the organisation.

Directors can help keep staff up-to-date with health and safety law with regular training such as the working at height courses from Workplace Law.

Is Federer all Alone in his Style of Play? (Part I)

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

Everyone is marvelled at Federer’s fantastic record but it is no surprise if you think not too far back at Pete Sampras dominance and John McEnroe’s, who also played great all round games.
One of the characteristics that separates these players from others is their uncanny ability to perform at their best under extreme pressure and win the “big points” especially at the “Big Four” (the Grand Slams).

They all have or had big weapons, the courage and clarity of mind to use them when they most needed them or when they mentally, would/will do the greatest damage to their opponents .

For example, in the last US Open Bjrn Borg played, John McEnroeused his creativity as one of his weapons against Borg.

The match was at a very tight crucial moment with Borg realizing that he would not win from the baseline and feeling pressured to come to the net. Borg did just that with a great approach shot up the line to John’s forehand, which McEnroe responded with a weak cross court passing, Borg volleyed solid up the line for what should have been a winner and moved in closer to the net for the kill. McEnroe somehow managed to get to the ball and strike an incredible backhand topspin lob over the head of a surprised, flat footed, stunned Bjorn Borg! After that there were many interesting points in that match, but that lob took the soul out of Borg and showed him that all doors to US Open heaven were shut! When Borg walked back to the baseline he knew he had lost the match and not much long after that tournament he retired from professional tennis.

Pete Sampras did the same kind of mental damage during his vomiting session to Coretja at the US Open 96, in his crying session to Courier at the Australian Open 95 and in a number of different occasions to the likes of Ivan Lendl, Boris Becker, Agassi, Rafter, Henman and others.
Petes greatest weapon was his second serve, you may say, “What about the first?” Pete’s second serve was what allowed him to go left and right for aces with his first serve at the “big points”. So sure he was that he would not miss his second service as well as of the quality of it, that he had no fear of his opponents return! This great confidence in his second service, allowed him the luxury to even ace his challengers with his second service in the climax of pressure. Needless to say, this was disheartening, frustrating and mind boggling to his despondent adversaries. Does Federer show flashes of the same?

In 1990 in Milano watching Pete, I saw the begining of the effective use of such weapons, when Pete threatened Lendl into a 3rd set, which was continued in Philadelphia where he defeated a baffled Agassi shaking his head, changing from side to side barely touching a ball on the return. Two matches later there was more of the same in the final against Andres Gomez. At year’s end using similar tactics and weapons Pete culminated his season with the crown at the US Open.

Federer today with his “unique” game (a throw back to the 60’s and 70’s tennis) demonstrates that the all around game is a tremendous challenge for today’s players, because a large majority of them are totally inept at dealing with the short cross slice backhand as well as the low slice on their forehands (due to extreme grips), which makes them prey to attacks and winners! At his best Roger’s refined “repertoire” can drive the most stall worth Hewitt, Ferrero, Nalbandian, Gaudio, Gonzales, Nadal into submission, if not into total embarrassment!

This leaves a wide open question about how alone is Federer in his style of play in relation to the players of “remote” generations from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s? I will answer that in part 2 of this article. Enjoy “The Game”!

LDS Single Adults Have Many Activity Options in Phoenix

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

In Arizona, single members of the LDS Church have no shortage of activity options available. By single, the LDS Church means that the person in question is not married or if he or she has been married, the divorce is final. If those requirements are not met, the LDS Church will not consider a person to be single.

LDS stands for “Latter Day Saints,” which is another name for members of the Mormon faith. Actually, Latter Day Saints is the shortened name for their official name, which is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

LDS single adults have many activities they sponsor in the Phoenix area. Many of these activities relate to singles dating, a concept which the Mormons believe is important enough to be regulated by their church teachings. By sponsoring various aspects of singles dating, the church believes it has more control over its young, unmarried members. Thus, the Arizona Mormon group has breakfasts, movie nights and dinner parties to help their youth maintain good opportunities to mingle and to keep the dates clean.

Of course, most of the activities that LDS single adults participate in have devotional times and opportunities to learn more of the doctrines of the LDS church. Whether it is dances, sporting activities or actual worship services, the LDS leadership endeavours to keep its doctrinal standards very clear to the youth in its care.

At least in Arizona, there is a strong organization standing behind all of the LDS activities available to its unmarried membership.

World Cup Goalkeepers – Fabien Barthez

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

Famous for his bald head, the son of a famous rugby player, 34-year-old Fabien Barthez is technically an excellent soccer player who could possibly have also made a career in an outfield position. Considered the top goalkeeper in France, he lost his place to Lyon’s Gregory Coupet after being banned for eight months (April-October 2005) for spitting at a referee.

A brawl erupted on the pitch after Marseille defender Frederic Dehu was sent off and the match was abandoned with 10 minutes left. Barthez, who had been substituted, got off the bench and confronted the referee. Fortunately for him, after long reflection, coach Raymond Domenech opted for the 77 times capped Barthez, who is also a veteran of the 1988 World Cup winning side.

It was reported in the French media that Domenech and his goalkeeper coach Bruno Martini chose Barthez over the 33-year-old Coupet because of his bigger experience at major events and his standing in the national team.

There is no doubt that Barthez can either be brilliant or sometimes a liability. When France won the World Cup in 1998, he only conceded two goals in seven games, but he has also made blunders, some of which were at club level for Manchester United.

Subsequent to the World Cup 1998, Barthez became a huge celebrity, almost a French equal of David Beckham.

Barthez started his career in professional football at Toulouse FC, joining Olympique Marseille in 1992 and winning the 1993 European Cup. He joined AS Monaco in 1995, winning the French League Championship and again in 2000.

Well known for his cavalier charges out of goal, he went on to join United for £7.8 million in May 2000, a British record for a goalkeeper, and won two Premiership titles at Old Trafford before returning to Marseille in August 2002 on loan. He quickly became a first choice during an exciting UEFA Cup run, securing a permanent move to his old club when he became a free agent in the summer of 2004.

“I just concentrate on myself. Since 1992, I’ve been playing for teams who enter a league season to win the title. I’ve had to question myself for almost the past 15 years,” said Barthez.

“I don’t think of the World Cup. I know everything goes fast, I know everything can change within 48 hours. That is why I have been focusing not only on my physical, but also mental training,” the former Manchester United goalkeeper said.

Barthez is France’s unquestioned starter in goal and, along with Zinedine Zidane, one of the most consistent pieces of the French team.

Keith MacLean teaches mental training for athletes the world over. For more information checkout http://www.goalkeepertips.com.

Glasgow Set for Huge Office Development

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Developers have unveiled plans for a £90 million commercial complex in the heart of Glasgow. Set to transform the Broomielaw district, currently known as the International Financial Services District (IFSD). Atlantic Square is set to be a major financial hub for Glasgow’s city centre, and will incorporate two office buildings, a large hotel with 130 guest bedrooms, conference centre and even a health club.

Glasgow based developers, the Capella Group; believe the centre will generate two and a half thousand jobs, providing a big boost for the city itself. Final approval is now being sought for Atlantic Square, already nicknamed, “Wall Street on the Clyde“.

Top UK companies, including Barclays Bank and Direct Line Insurance have already generated thousands of jobs in the International Financial Services District. A billion pound scheme, started in 2001, which planned to boost the previously run down area of Broomielaw Quay, over a period of ten years. Chief Exec for the group, Jim Fitzsimons, knows the IFSD has already been “tremendously successful” and believes that Capella’s new plans will “further enhance” the city’s commercial profile.

Despite the obvious and painful downturn in the UK’s economy, Fitzsimons believes its advantage of being “better placed” will mean the 227.000 square feet of office space will be booked within the next year (click here for a complete commercial and office relocation service). Better pedestrian access will ensure the development is well connected with the surrounding district.

The A Listed faade of Broomielaw Quay will be preserved, and a fabulous new covered court yard will span between James Watt Street and York Street. It’s hoped, providing a vibrant meeting place for locals, visitors and workers to relax.
